How It Works

BaZi (八字), also known as the Four Pillars of Destiny, is a 2,000-year-old Chinese system that maps your birth year, month, day, and hour to the Five Elements. Think of it as the world’s oldest personality test — rooted in nature, not psychology.

Each of your Four Pillars contains two characters: a Heavenly Stem and an Earthly Branch. Together, these eight characters form your elemental blueprint.

The Five Elements

• Wood (木) — Growth, creativity, compassion, flexibility. People strong in Wood are natural visionaries.
• Fire (火) — Passion, charisma, transformation, warmth. Fire-dominant people light up any room.
• Earth (土) — Stability, reliability, nurturing, patience. Earth types are the anchors in people’s lives.
• Metal (金) — Discipline, structure, clarity, precision. Metal brings order to chaos.
• Water (水) — Wisdom, adaptability, intuition, depth. Water flows around obstacles and finds its way.
